Kangaroo
Scientists divide animals into about 35 groups called phyla (one is a phylum). You pronounce it FIE-lah. These are some of the more important phyla:
Hydras
Sponges
Flatworms
Roundworms
Segmented Worms
Arthropods (Spiders, Crabs and Bugs)
Mollusks (Snails, Clams, Mussels)
Chordates (Fish, frogs, snakes, birds, and mammals, including people)
